DeSales University, a private, catholic, liberal arts university, administered by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales was established in 1964. The University serves over 2800 students in the traditional undergraduate, ACCESS- the area's leading adult and continuing education program, and five graduate programs. DeSales offers a broad-based liberal arts program with career-focused specialization through our 33 undergraduate majors in the departments of Business, Education, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Nursing, Performing Arts, Philosophy, and Theology, and Social Sciences.

Our undergraduate program challenges good students to become better, preparing them not only for their careers but for their lives. Our educational philosophy based on Christian Humanism and espoused by our patron saint, St. Francis de Sales, has endured for generations by focusing on the special and unique talents of each individual student in a learning rich environment. That individual attention- both inside the classroom and out- means more interaction with professors and more opporunity for growth. Opportunities for personal growth extend outside of the classroom with engaging extra-curricular and social activities, vibrant campus ministry and social outreach programs, and active participation in intramural and intercollegiate athletics. DeSales University is a member of the NCAA Division III and our 16 varsity sports teams compete in the Middle Atlantic Corporation Freedom League.

In recent years, the University has experienced significant growth in enrollment and campus facilities. The most recent additions to our 400-acre Center Valley campus have been Aviat Hall, a co-educational residence hall, and the Hurd Science Center; a state-of-the-art building dedicated to the natural sciences, in the Fall of 2001, along with the DeSales University Center, our new dining hall, which opened in January 2004. A new 150-bed residence hall was also completed in Fall 2005.
